“obscured sound” is an artistic platform dedicated to collecting and sharing stories and recordings of Hong Kong’s urban sounds. Users can anonymously submit sound stories and mark relevant locations on the map.

When submitting content, users must not upload or share the following:

• Content involving violence, discrimination, hate speech, harassment, fraud, or any behavior that threatens social safety;
• Personally identifiable information about themselves or others (e.g., real names, phone numbers, addresses, or social media accounts);
• Content that infringes on the copyrights, privacy, or other legal rights of third parties;
• Commercial advertisements, marketing promotions, or spam;
• Links to external websites;
• Submissions generated in bulk by bots or automated tools;
• Content containing viruses, malware, or harmful code.

2. Content Review and Removal

All submitted sounds and content will be reviewed to ensure they comply with our community guidelines. “obscured sound” reserves the right to review, edit, refuse, or remove any content at its sole discretion. If you have any concerns or wish to request the removal of your submitted content, please contact us.

3. User Rights

You may request the deletion of any submitted content. Please use our contact information to submit your request, and we will process it as soon as possible.

Anonymity
We are committed to protecting user’s anonymity. All publicly shared sound stories and recordings will be de-identified to ensure no personal identifiable information is disclosed.

5. Intellectual Property and Licensing

You confirm that all content you submit is original or that you have obtained all necessary permissions, consents, and authorizations under the Copyright Ordinance (Cap. 528 of the Laws of Hong Kong) to ensure the legality of the content. If any submitted content infringes on the copyright, privacy, or other legal rights of third parties, you will bear all associated legal risks and responsibilities. “Urban Sounds” will not be held liable for such infringements.

By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and share your content under the following conditions:

• To showcase the content on the interactive map platform of the “Urban Sounds” website;
• To use the content in exhibitions, talks, publications, or promotional materials;

All publicly displayed sound recordings or stories will be de-identified to ensure anonymity.
Unless otherwise stated, all content on this website is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. Third parties may share and adapt the content for any purpose, including commercial use, as long as appropriate credit is given and adaptations are shared under the same license terms.
